Chelsea transfer target Declan Rice has been tipped to complete a move to Arsenal – that is according to Tam McManus

Over the past few seasons Declan Rice has developed into one of the best players at the club – and one of the most impressive midfielders that the Premier League has to offer.

He really is the leader at the Hammers and a man that they are hoping to keep at the club for as long as they are possibly too – but that has not stopped speculation regarding his long-term future at the club

Chelsea have been linked with a move for the player – and are seemingly winning the race – but McManus has opened up and suggested that it will be Arsenal that win the race for the Englishman: “I fancy Arsenal to go and win the league now, they are battering teams,” McManus told Football Insider

“So, by extension, that’s them in the Champions League with a bit more money to spend. So you would be moving to a team that has just won something and is set up to win more as well as a team in the Champions League.

“It’s another London team so he wouldn’t have to move. That would tick a lot of boxes. Xhaka is getting on so you would stick Rice in for him.

“A midfield of Rice, Odegaard and Partey could do some serious damage. They are already really strong in the middle of the pitch so you stick Rice in there as well and wow.

“I know he’s been linked with Chelsea for years but Arsenal is the move, for me.

“I’m not sure what the plan is at Chelsea.”
