“The Infinite Machine”, the film about Ethereum from the genesis of Vitalik Dimitrievic Buterin and co. to the consecration, will see the light with the precious contribution of Ridley Scott and his foundation.
“The Infinite Machine”, the new film on Ethereum
In a well-known Western film, the legendary Clint Eastwood recited:
“When a man with a pistol meets a man with a rifle, the man with a pistol will be a dead man”.
Perhaps this is how director Shyam Madiraju must have felt upon hearing the news that Ridley Scott will be the producer of “The Infinite Machine”, the film about the genesis and rise of Ethereum (ETH).
However, this goliardic interpretation does not reflect reality. The writer of the book to which the film will be adapted, Camilla Russo, believes that a better team could not have been imagined for this production.
The team is really good, the film will be produced by Scott Free Productions, Ridley Scott’s production company, who will finance the project together with Tom Moran, Vera Meyer and Alejandro Miranda. The film will be written by Shyam Madiraju, who will also direct.
When an all-time film giant like Scott, who has made iconic films like Alien, the futuristic Blade Runner and Gladiator, and has 80 Academy Award nominations, gets involved, the hype goes through the roof.
Rumours also include that the film will be the first of a trilogy with the other two films implemented by the contribution of the books Out of the Ether by Matthew Leising, published in 2020 and The Cryptopians by Laura Shin just released.
“The Infinite Machine” and Camilla Russo’s book
On the eve of his first decade, Ethereum (ETH) Co-Founder Vitalik Buterin will see a film made about the history of “his” creature.
The report by Camilla Russo (an expert in the crypto world) describes the journey taken by the second most important digital currency and platform, from its design to the present day.
A key milestone described in the book, and which will also be an important part of the film, is the impetus given by the eight co-founding partners to give birth to ETH.
Thanks to the input of (among others) Gavin Wood, founder of Polkadot and Charles Hoskinson, father of Cardano, the leading smart contract platform saw the light of day on 30 July 2015.
Together with the two and the mastermind of Vitalik, the other co-founders were Jeffrey Wilcke, Anthony Di Lorio, Joseph Lubin and Amir Chetrit.
The decentralized protocol created between 2013 and 2015 allows for the creation of Smart Contracts but not only.
Ethereum also allows the creation of dApps (Decentralized Applications) that can be used by anyone, as is the case for some projects within the NFT (Non-Fungible Token) world.
The Ethereum platform also includes its own cryptocurrency Ether, which boasts the largest capitalization just behind Bitcoin.
To The Deadline, Russo stated:
“It’s incredibly exciting that Ridley Scott and the crew at Scott Frey join us to produce the movie of “The Infinite Machine.” I want to make a feature film about the interesting story about the people behind the most revolutionary technology since the Internet. Can’t imagine a better team to transform into one that will capture the hearts of our generation”.
