After a brief scare earlier this year when her Instagram account was hacked and posted a message claiming she was dead, Lil Tay is alive and well, and living with her mom in Canada.

In an interview with TMZ in August 2023, Tay said that her Instagram account was hacked and that she is “completely heartbroken and struggling to even find the right words to say.”

“I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive,” she said. “I’m so grateful for the love and support from my fans during this difficult time.”

Tay, whose real name is Claire Hope, rose to fame in 2018 with her viral videos of herself bragging about her wealth and lifestyle. She has since been criticized for her behavior and for being exploitative of her young brother.

In 2019, Tay’s father, Christopher Hope, was granted custody of her by a Canadian court. However, in 2021, Tay’s mother, Angela Tian, was awarded custody of her daughter.

Tay has been relatively quiet since her rise to fame, but she has been posting more frequently on social media in recent months. She has also been working on new music.

It is good to hear that Tay is doing well and that she is surrounded by loved ones.
