THE mother of an escaped murderer is now assisting the police in the search for the convict.
Danelo Cavalcante, 34, was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his former girlfriend before he escaped from Chester County Prison in Pennsylvania.
Lt. Col. George Bevins, deputy commissioner of operations for the Pennsylvania State Police, said that there have been four sightings of the killer.
“He is desperate. He does not want to be caught. He has very little to lose at this time,” Bevins said of Cavalcante.
Bevins added that Cavalcante’s mother has recorded a message for her son, requesting that he surrenders peacefully.
The message has been broadcasted from vehicles and police helicopters in the search area.
